What changed, and when
Sonic Rewards launched on April 6, 2026. With that launch, the all-day app half price for any registered user was retired. It became a Legend benefit instead. Legend means 30 qualifying visits in a year. Legend members pick one of three VIP benefits per visit: half-price drinks and slushes, or a free snack or side with any purchase once a week, or $2 off $10 or more. The on-lot 2 to 4 PM Happy Hour did not change in that launch.
What still works today

What ended
The app anytime half price for any registered user ended. Before the change, a registered user could get half price drinks and slushes all day through the app. Now that all-day app benefit is for Legend members only, as one of their three VIP benefits per visit. Why everyone thinks it stopped
Two things happened at once. First, the app stopped showing half price drinks to non-Legend users, so regular app users saw the deal vanish. Second, most guides and search answers still describe the old anytime rule, so the reader sees one thing in the app and another thing in the guide, and concludes the whole deal is gone. The deal did not end. The anytime app version ended, and the 2 to 4 PM version is still on.
How to check before you go
- Open the app and check the Deals tab before you order. That shows what your account gets today.
- If the app shows no half price, go between 2 and 4 PM instead and order on the lot.
- Check the price before you pay, because prices vary by store. If your store does not take part, the discount will not apply, even in the window.
No code to type. In the app, the discount applies when you place and pay, not at pickup time.
Why the discount did not apply
You ordered outside 2 to 4 PM, and your app benefit is not Legend. You ordered a Mini size. Mini is not included. You ordered an Ice Cream Slush, a Cream Slush, a shake, or food. Your store does not take part in Happy Hour. Your app reward needs Legend status, and your account is not Legend yet.
